Catechetical Ministry
Handing on the faith to the next generation.
The Catechetical Ministry forms and sends catechists to handle Sunday school in the parish and catechism classes in the public schools within its territory, preparing children for First Confession and First Holy Communion.
Catechists undergo formation with the diocesan catechetical office and are commissioned each year at the fiesta Mass of San Lorenzo Ruiz — himself a catechist who gave his life for the faith he taught.
What we do
- Sunday school for children every Sunday morning
- Catechism classes in public elementary schools
- First Communion and First Confession preparation
- Annual catechists' formation and commissioning
